Abstract

Early marriage remains a significant barrier to educational attainment among girls in many parts of the world. This study examines the relationship between early marriage and girls' access to education in Azerbaijan and Russia. The research analyses social, cultural, economic, and educational factors associated with early marriage and evaluates its effects on school attendance, academic achievement, and future educational opportunities. A comparative approach is used to identify common challenges and effective intervention strategies implemented in both countries. The findings indicate that early marriage contributes to school dropout, reduced participation in higher education, and limited professional development opportunities for girls. The study highlights the importance of educational policies, community awareness programs, and social support mechanisms in preventing early marriage and ensuring educational equity.
